What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
To tell you the truth, it was a terrible heat wave. I couldn’t sleep and woke up one morning with this story burning to be told. No one ever thanks the weather for their inspiration, but it really did play a key part. I had been formulating some ideas for awhile. In examining my own past, I knew there was another layer to be explored. Everyone talks about the “big traumas”, but no one addresses the smaller ones. And they pack a punch. The tiny pebbles we carry around really can hold us back, dampen out spirits, and extinguish our light. I wrote this for me and for you. The inclusion of magic and magical practices was to make it more fun for the reader.
