Alex is a teenager from a small Virginia town. When he’s not dodging the school bully he’s worried about surviving school, getting his driver’s license and-if he’s lucky-maybe finding a girlfriend. He gets so worried that he’s having nightmares and it appears that the threats in his dreams are beginning to punch through into the real world. He wonders if he’s going crazy.
That’s what the West calls the demon in the dark; Darawigal is what the Aborigine who comes into his life teaches Alex to call the dark creature that can reach from the depths of the psyche to kill in the real world.
Alex’s father fell before the powers of Nightmare years before, young Alex must now take his place in the war for the soul of the human race.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I’ve always thought dreams were something special. I imagined a world where your dreams were as real as your waking reality and wanted to bring such a place to life. This tale actually started as a role playing game concept that just grew into something bigger.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Some of the characters in this novel are based on people who have inspired me or supported me in my life journey. The protagonist is a little bit of the shy kid I used to be and the hero I always dreamed of being at his age.
Edmund de Wight has always had a thirst to learn new things. He’s pursued such diverse careers as a carnival barker, a cryptologist and linguist in military intelligence, a computer technician and bartender. He’s travelled the world and managed to see the entire USA with the exception of two states. Equally intrigued by science, religion, and mysticism Ed brings a wide worldview to his writing. For hobbies Ed has undertaken pursuits as varied as wood carving, archery and sword fighting.
Ed writes fiction that can best be described as dark, edging on horror. His worlds often straddle the border between sci-fi, fantasy and horror.
