What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The Southwest's dessert quail inspired this book.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The idea for Federico Exaggerated began during one of my walks along an arroyo. I spotted at least two quail coveys, if not three. In particular, I noticed one large male perched on a high rock. He was calling to the group trying mightily to get their attention, but the other quails were busy calling to each other and paid him no mind. It amused me and made me wonder what was going on. My imagination went to work, and Federico came to be.
