The singing frog sisters love to sing about their favorite numbers, but they are not like most frogs. Cricket is very hungry and about to learn their secret. Will they all become friends? Will Cricket be too afraid? This story has a big surprise!
When a little stray puppy befriends a soldier named Robert Conroy training to go to war in 1917, he starts out on an amazing journey as the private teaches him all he needs to know to become a U.S. Army soldier too. After sneaking him on board a ship heading to Europe, the two best friends fight side-by-side in what soon becomes the biggest war the world has ever seen!
The little dog, affectionately named “Stubby” because of his stout tail, learns to bravely confront all the brand new warfare devices he encounters including tanks, machine guns, planes, and mustard gas as he proudly serves his country in the First World War and becomes a true American war hero.
This well-researched historical fiction novella makes reading about history fun for readers both young and old(er). It’s an entertaining way to introduce young readers to all the “firsts” of World War I as they experience it all through the eyes of this real little dog who served in it so bravely.
There is a historical facts sheet at the end to let readers know which parts of the story were taken from real places, events, and battles and which parts were fictionalized (to keep the storyline moving at an interesting pace).
NOTE: A Lesson Plan and Glossary of terms related to the time period are available for FREE on the book’s website to accompany this book in a classroom setting.

When Aidan and Maggie find a fairy cross while rock-hunting with their grandfather, it’s just an oddity. But when they discover an elf imprisoned in the stone and set him free, they and their grandparents, Nana and Beebop, are attacked by Dark Elves and forced to flee to the magical world of Celahir.
In Celahir, Findecano – the elf the children freed from the fairy cross – leads them on a quest to recover gemstones stolen from the Elven Bow by the Dark Elves. Without the restoration of the gemstones to the Elven Bow, the balance between good and evil in Celahir – and the human world – could tip toward evil.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
We enjoy writing for children. Kids want to hear an exciting story filled with adventure. Children are less critical and easy to please. Children appreciate the illustrations and are excited to read something new.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Stick with it. When things get frustrating, take a break but don’t stop. This process will take some time, maybe a year maybe longer.
Don and Cathy Rush (DC Rush) currently live in Arizona along with their cats Hershey and Nomi, Cathy is a homemaker and Don is a retired Manufacturing Manager and former Governing Board member of the Cartwright School District in Phoenix, Arizona.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
One day Cathy and I were watching the birds playing in the bird bath and eating from the birdfeeder. On the top of a block wall in the back yard, the birds patiently waited their turn to eat, resembling airplanes waiting to take off at a busy airport. We were amazed at how the birds took turns at the birdfeeder and how the smaller birds would kick seed down to the larger birds, and we decided to write a children’s book about our birds.
